We visited El Cuyo for the first time in May and loved it! We were lucky to find Casa Mía after a lot of research and fell in love with it. We were looking for accommodations in a nice and tranquil environment just to relax in nature, a small hotel with character, sustainability and comfort in mind. We knew immediately that we had found our place! As soon as we made our booking the staff at Casa Mía immediately reached out to us and were so attentive and helpful prior to our visit and during our stay. We felt so cared for! We stayed at the Penthouse and it was even better than we imagined. We loved how private, spacious and comfortable it was! It had spectacular views towards both the lake and the ocean and we woke up to the sounds of bird life, it was truly magical. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breeze passing through our bedroom windows at night made for a restful sleep. No A.C. Is needed here. We loved having a kitchen to cook our own meals when we felt like it. However the hotel also included a light breakfast and a lunch menu is available. The beach is just around the corner and it is an amazing habitat. And if you’re looking for an activity Casa Mia offers you lessons in kite surfing when it’s season. We loved that it was so quiet and that both locals and visitors seem to respect that El Cuyo is part of a protected biosphere, no loud music or noise pollution is allowed. We were sad to see however that El Cuyo faces some challenges with plastic pollution and contamination and we felt that more can be done to protect this paradise. We hope that visitors and locals will continue to protect and care for this unique place that now owns a place in our hearts. Thank you to Marco, Joaquin and team! You made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely be back and stay at Casa Mia again!Posted on Dave ThompsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an unforgettable time at the lovely Casa Mia and can’t wait to come back again! The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the Casa itself is located on a lovely peaceful stretch of beach a short walk from the main part of the town. There are two wonderful housekeepers that look after you at breakfast and sort anything you need for your room. Marco the owner is super helpful as is the manager Joaquin & Nick is on hand to teach you to kite surf - the day trips to Punta are magical :)Posted on mel rawlingsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a lovely 6 days at Casa Mia. Everything about our stay was perfect - it was even better than we expected (and we had high expectations!). The hotel has clearly been built with love - everything is well thought through and set up to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was healthy and home made and the lunch was excellent too. The rooms and the whole property were perfectly clean and there was loads of communal space to hang out in in the day. The property is only a very short (2 min if that) walk to the beach. They offer beach chairs and a shade at the beach. We were there with the main purpose to kite - the kite school attached to the hotel is great. Nick (the kite instructor) was so helpful and went out of his way to help us get the most out of our kiting. Including booking a couple of boat trips for when the wind was low in El Cuyo. The hotel also offers paddle boards for hire and we had a particularly special morning paddle boarding at sunrise. El Cuyo is magical - we will definitely be back and to stay at Casa Mia again.Posted on Norberto BERMÚDEZTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ParadisePosted on Danny GrobbenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A lovely small hotel with a 5 star service! The rooms are nice and spacious (we had the penthouse and a garden room for our family), the breakfast is lovely and healthy. The sunsets from the penthouse are priceless. Marco & Nick run a great kiteboarding school and go out of the way to get you on the board at the end of a week lessons. Totally recommended!!Posted on Leigh WhaleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Casa Mia was a perfect fit for our group! Everyone that works there is very friendly and super helpful. We rented the entire facility and all of the rooms were nice and spacious! Our students learned about the eco friendly ventures they are involved in or working on currently in El Cuyo. They also led us in a local beach clean up which was much enjoyed.
